We are now seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Job Description: We are looking for a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support Early Years children, particularly those with speech and communication difficulties and personal care needs. The successful candidate will work closely with our teaching staff to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment that promotes each child's development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in the Early Years setting.
  • Assist children with speech and communication difficulties, implementing individualised strategies to enhance their language skills.
  • Support children who require personal care, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and hygiene needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging activities that are developmentally appropriate and inclusive.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, contributing to assessments and planning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care and education.
  • Promote an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where all children feel valued and respected.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Knowledge of speech and communication difficulties and appropriate support strategies.
  • Ability to provide personal care in a respectful and sensitive manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or SEND (desirable).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
