Tradewind Recruitment is pleased to announce an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school community in Tameside. This position requires someone with a background in school-based roles who is eager to make a meaningful contribution to students with special educational needs. The Role:In this role as SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll be essential in helping SEND students reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive classroom setting. Working closely with teachers and support staff, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted assistance to SEND students in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to meet individual student goals and learning needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
  • Supporting teachers in tracking student progress and adapting materials as needed.
  • Building trusting relationships with students to boost their confidence and independence.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, adaptable, and has a real passion for supporting young people's education and well-being. Your experience in schools will enable you to hit the ground running and provide impactful support from your first day.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar, within a school or educational environment.
  • A background in working with SEND students.
  • A solid understanding of SEND needs and strategies, with an empathetic approach to individual requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff to enhance student learning and support.
