SEN Teaching Assistant

Cover People are currently recruiting for a full time, SEN Teaching Assistant in an Primary School based in Manchester. The role will start ASAP.

The Role

If you have SEN experience and feel confident to support learners with complex physical needs as well as behavioural needs, get in touch!

The school are looking for a qualified teaching assistant to help and support learners 1:1 in a classroom setting. The school provides a high level of support to children who are on the autistic spectrum, have ADHD and display challenging behavior - as well as general classroom support.

The candidate must have:

  • 6 months experience working with children
  • Experience and knowledge of supporting children with SEN and complex needs
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • DBS on update register
  • References for last 2 years work history
  • Up to date CV

The School

The Primary School has a high number of SEND children coming from other schools as well as into their EYFS classes. The school has lots of challenging classes as well as children with EHCP’s. There are also some children who have funding for 1:1 support. The school need versatile TA’s who can move between general class support to SEND TA with ease. Someone who can deal with challenging behaviour is also a must.
