SEND Teaching Assistant

Forever Teaching is proud to be supporting a welcoming and community-driven Primary School in Didsbury. We are looking for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team in a long term role, supporting children across Key Stage 1 with needs such as Autism, ADHD, Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs and Behavioural Challeneges.

The SEND Teaching Assistant Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to the pupil, ensuring they feel confident and included.
  • Assist with their academic work, adapting learning activities to suit their needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
  • Help the pupil develop social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Encourage independence while offering the right level of support.

SEND Teaching Assistant Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs (SEND).
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive in your approach to supporting students.
  • An understanding of how to tailor your teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff.
  • A passion for supporting childrenā€™s educational and emotional development.
