Teaching Assistant Role Overview

As a Teaching Assistant in the EYFS, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher, ensuring children thrive in a nurturing and engaging environment. In addition to general classroom duties, you will take responsibility for running targeted phonics intervention groups to help develop pupils' early reading and writing skills.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide general classroom support in the EYFS.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable).
