The Role: Teaching Assistant
As a teaching assistant, you will work in a specialist unit within the mainstream school, supporting a small group of KS1 and KS2 pupils with varying needs. You will work closely with the SENDCO and be actively involved in shaping the children's learning plans, attending meetings with the SLT and Speech & Language Therapy team. This is a hands-on role where your input will directly impact the progress and development of the children.
Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
- Support a group of 6-7 children with diverse learning needs
- Work collaboratively with the SENDCO, teachers, and external specialists
- Contribute to individual learning plans and attend key development meetings
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, tailored activities
