Reeson Education is working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in the M15 area to find a Teaching Assistant to support a small Year 1 SEN class. This is a full-time, long-term role with an opportunity for the right person to secure a long-term contract with the school.

This large, diverse, and welcoming primary school has a dedicated SEN class for Year 1 pupils with ASD, ADHD, sensory needs, mild learning difficulties, and speech & language challenges. The class has just 7 pupils and is supported by a class teacher and another Teaching Assistant, ensuring that every child gets the attention and support they need.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting pupils with complex additional needs in a small Year 1 class
  • Assisting in adapting lessons to meet each child's individual needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support alongside the class teacher and TA
  • Helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with social, communication, and sensory needs

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Passion for working with young children with SEN
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
