Reeson Education is excited to partner with a dedicated SEND setting in the M31 postcode area to find a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs while working within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Details:

  • Position: Teaching Assistant
  • Location: M31 postcode area (precise location undisclosed)
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Pay: £12.83 to £14.54 per hour
  • Duration: Long-term, with potential for temp to permanent placement

Teaching Assistant Essential Requirements:

  • A full UK driving license is essential for this role, along with business insurance.
  • The ability to transport pupils within the community as part of their learning experience.

Teaching assistant Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working with children with ASC, learning disabilities, or sensory needs.
  • Knowledge of PECS or alternative communication methods is advantageous.

Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs in both classroom and community settings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the Lead Teacher and external specialists.
  • Facilitate inclusive and interactive learning experiences, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
  • Organise and deliver curriculum-based activities both on-site and in the community, ensuring pupils engage with their surroundings safely and positively.
  • Support personal development, behaviour management, and communication skills for all pupils.
