Teaching Assistant - The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with pupils of all ages with special educational needs, providing essential support across the curriculum. Your role will involve assisting the class teacher, leading small group interventions, and offering one-to-one support where needed. The school have a holistic and therapeutic approach to learning and this is something that works really well for every child within the setting.
Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities:
- Provide support to children from age 8 to 16 years old, helping them stay engaged and progress in their learning
- Lead small group interventions in subjects like English, Maths, and Reading
- Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all pupils receive the attention they need
- Support children's emotional and social development, promoting a positive learning environment
- Help implement tailored learning strategies to support individual needs
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO to ensure pupil progress
Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary, secondary or SEN setting
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A reliable and committed attitude - this is a long-term teaching assistant role requiring full dedication (chance to secure a permanent contract)
- Ability to adapt and work with pupils of varying abilities and needs
