Reeson Education is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and supportive team in a fantastic primary school in the M11 area of Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with an immediate start. The school has a well-established SEN provision that caters to pupils from EYFS to Year 2, offering a nurturing and structured environment to help children with additional needs thrive.
About the Teaching Assistant Role:
- The Teaching Assistant will support two separate SEN provisions within the school, each with a small group of 4 to 6 pupils.
- The role involves working closely with children with a variety of additional needs, including communication difficulties, social and emotional challenges, and sensory processing differences.
- The Teaching Assistant will work under the guidance of experienced SEN staff and class teachers to deliver tailored support that enhances learning and development.
- This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM each day.
- The Teaching Assistant will play a key role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, helping pupils build confidence and independence.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:
- Have prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar setting supporting children with SEN.
- Be passionate about supporting young learners in a nurturing and structured environment.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Be patient, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to the needs of pupils with diverse learning profiles.
- Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (desirable but not essential).
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- A Teaching Assistant must be able to provide two recent references, with at least one from an educational setting.
- A current, enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, whether in a school, nursery, or another childcare setting.
