Reeson Education is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a well-established mainstream primary school in the M40 area of Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start, supporting pupils within the SEN classes created in the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

About the Teaching Assistant Role:

  • The Teaching Assistant will be supporting students in the school's tailored SEN classes, working with children from EYFS to Year 2.
  • Pupils have a range of needs, including SEMH, communication difficulties, and sensory needs.
  • There are two small SEN classes within the school, allowing for focused and meaningful support.
  • The Teaching Assistant will help create a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • The Teaching Assistant will be working closely with the SENDCo, teachers, and therapists to support students' development.
  • The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Have experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN or mainstream setting.
  • Be patient, resilient, and proactive, with a strong ability to build rapport with pupils.
  • Have experience working with children with SEND, including SEMH and communication difficulties.
  • Be comfortable supporting in small group and one-to-one settings.
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Be able to commit to a full-time, long-term role and be available to start as soon as possible.
  • Be able to provide two references covering a three-year period, with one from your most recent employer.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
