This Teaching Assistant role will involve working within KS1, supporting pupils with varying levels of need, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.

Teaching Assistant - The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with KS1 pupils with diverse learning needs, including those of lower ability, as well as those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, sensory needs, non-verbal communication difficulties, and other learning challenges. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who is compassionate, proactive, and adaptable, with a real passion for supporting children in their learning and personal development.

Teaching Assistant - Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils in KS1, either in small groups or one-to-one.
  • Assist with the learning and emotional development of children with varying needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement IEPs (Individual Education Plans) and behavioural strategies.
  • Support pupils with communication and social interaction, using visual aids and alternative communication methods where necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist with sensory regulation and emotional well-being, ensuring a safe and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
  • Maintain high levels of reliability and commitment to provide the Teaching Assistant consistency the school requires.
