Electrical Commissioning Engineer – West Midlands – Competitive Salary
VIQU are seeking a driven Commissioning Engineer to join a leading company in the energy sector. In this role, you will test and commission electrical Substation Control Systems for critical projects. This role will involve frequent travel to and from sites across the UK.Â
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site acceptance testing/commissioning of electrical systems in both factory settings and client sites across the UK.
- Manage the project commissioning file, marking up drawings when changes are made.
- Supervise installations and ensure compliance with set procedures and standards.
- Prepare and manage commissioning documentation.
- Deploy configuration files to SCADA, RTUs, IEDs, and network devices.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a test/commissioning role involving fault finding on electrical and electronic systems.
- Previously worked in a role producing commissioning documentation and verification of electrical devices.
- Understanding of electrical safety protocols.
- Full UK driving licence and own car.
Desirable:
- Experience with National Grid Substations, SCADA systems, and AutoCAD.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. BS7671, C&G 2391) or National Grid competent person.
