About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing ELV and LV electrical systems. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring all electrical work is carried out to the highest standards. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Site Manager, you will help keep building systems running smoothly.

Please note: Candidates must be willing to undergo DV Clearance. Only applicants with a British Passport can be considered due to security clearance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and respond to breakdowns to ensure systems remain fully operational.
  • Perform electrical installation work, PAT Testing, and electrical safety testing.
  • Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the Out-of-Hours on-call rota (1 in 3).
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures, including permits to work, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure they adhere to contractual commitments.
  • Maintain accurate records using MAXIMO task sheets.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with planned preventative maintenance regimes.
  • Strong fault-finding skills in basic electrical circuits.
  • Electrical testing and installation experience (to BS7671 standards).
  • Risk assessment training and an understanding of lone working requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • AM2 or equivalent time-served electrical qualification.
  • C&G 2391 or equivalent electrical testing and inspection experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of working to BS7671 standards.

Desirable Qualifications

  • 17th/18th Edition Regulations certification.
  • C&G 2330, 2360, or 2365 (or other relevant electrical qualifications).
  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).

  • Comfortable working at height, carrying tools/components up to 20kg, and using vertical access equipment.
