Red Recruitment is recruiting an Electrical Engineer (Solar) to join our client, who has extensive experience in managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK.

This position is located in Manchester. The salary for this position is £38,000 - £40,000 per annum and this role offers flexible hours.

You will have access to a fully expensed company vehicle, all equipment plus the opportunity for further required training.

You will need both an NVQ Level 3 (2391) qualification, 18th edition and Safe Isolation qualification.

Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer (Solar):

  • Conducting reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, involving system testing and fault diagnosis
  • Ensuring knowledge and approach of all technical aspects are well understood and consistently applied by all engineers
  • Supporting the 'back-office' function in technical matters
  • Reacting to best practice and Legislative changes by supporting changes to standardised operating protocols in accordance with system design and installed equipment
  • Ensuring personal and site health and safety procedures and protocols are always followed to understand, assess and mitigate risks effectively

Key Skills and Experience of an Electrical Engineer (Solar):

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (2391) is required
  • Safe Isolation qualification is required
  • 18th edition is required
  • Proven technical understanding of Commercial (to 1MW) and domestic rooftop Solar PV
  • The ability to effectively convey technical issues to a layperson
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to use technology remotely is a must
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel for appointments, up to regional coverage
