Within our Power team, we're delivering impactful projects in the Transmission and Distribution sectors, while supporting broader energy and infrastructure ventures. With an ever-expanding portfolio, we're looking for a Protection and Control Engineer to join us and take our service offerings to the next level.
In this role, you'll bring your expertise to complex, high-impact projects, working collaboratively with talented engineers and industry-leading clients. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that span the full lifecycle of protection and control system design and delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Expertise: Conduct FEED and detailed designs, focusing on protection and control systems.
  • Technical Mastery: Tackle complex tasks like SLD, KLD, schematics, wiring diagrams, functional specifications, and setting reports.
  • Innovative Engineering: Develop network architecture and perform cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, LVAC and LVDC load calculations, and technical specifications for P&C equipment, batteries, and UPS systems.
  • Design Leadership: Lead P&C Design Assurance activities and deliver CDAE or LCDAE for National Grid or EPC projects.
  • Tender Management: Prepare and manage tender packages, focusing on P&C technical offers.
  • Collaborative Oversight: Chair design and Hazard review meetings, ensuring top-quality deliverables.
  • System Integration: Implement compliant substation designs using IEC 61850 standards, integrating SCADA, telecommunication, and automation systems.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit?

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in substation P&C design within National Grid (NG) or DNO frameworks.

Technical Know-How:

  • A deep understanding of engineering lifecycles, electrical codes, and substation automation systems like SCADA.
  • Strong skills in fault analysis, system performance evaluation, and HV protection.
