Role Overview:
They are seeking a highly qualified and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Manchester team. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with the ambition to lead, train, and inspire a team while playing a key role in client engagement and project delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, where you’ll have the chance to lead mechanical engineering projects from conception through to completion, representing the consultancy and creating lasting relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:
    • Act as the main point of contact for key clients, representing the company at meetings, networking events, and in project discussions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  2. Project & Design Oversight:
    • Oversee the mechanical design process, working closely with contractors, internal teams, and clients to deliver solutions that meet project specifications and industry standards.
    • Ensure designs are innovative, sustainable, and aligned with the latest regulations and best practices.
  3. Team Building & Leadership:
    • Build and lead your own team, providing guidance, mentorship, and training to support professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, where everyone contributes to high-quality design solutions.
  4. Business Development & Fee Bids:
    • Lead fee proposals and manage budgets, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
    • Participate in business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities and contributing to the consultancy’s growth.
  5. Networking & Consultancy:
    • Actively engage with industry networks and client events, promoting the company’s expertise and capabilities.
    • Serve as a consultant on projects, offering valuable insights and solutions that reflect the consultancy’s commitment to excellence.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications: Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE membership is essential.
  • Consultancy Background: A solid track record within a consultancy environment, demonstrating longevity and commitment in previous roles.
