Job Overview

OCS is currently recruiting for a Sprinkler Designer to join our passionate and driven sprinkler team in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Principles: Provide fire sprinkler system designs, including hydraulic calculations, building codes, and industry standards.

Design Projects: Collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally to assist in the creation of fire sprinkler system designs for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

AutoCAD Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed installation design, co-ordination and as fitted plans and layouts for fire sprinkler systems.

Code Compliance: Designs to comply with local, national, and international fire codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire sprinkler designs into overall construction and renovation projects.

Site Visits: Participate in site visits to understand project requirements and make necessary adjustments to design plans.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design projects, revisions, and changes, ensuring all necessary documentation is up to date.

Continued Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in fire protection technology, and changes in relevant regulations through ongoing training and professional development.

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK

Mandatory

Proven track record in fire sprinkler industry designing commercial sprinkler systems

Hold relevant LPCB qualification, Basic Design in sprinkler system design is a minimum

Expert in AutoCad use

PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft.

Valid CSCS card.

Preferred

LPCB FHC calculations

CDM Awareness.

Full driving licence.
