Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and optimising industrial plant equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency in a high-performing environment.

• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to and reinforcing health and safety protocols.

• Conduct preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on a range of industrial equipment and facilities.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.

• Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to breakdowns in line with maintenance programmes.

• Ensure all plant equipment operates efficiently, meeting safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment history and maintenance activities.

• Utilise maintenance management systems to document work and optimise workflow.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to drive efficiency and reduce operational costs.

• Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; HNC/HND preferred.

• At least three years of mechanical maintenance experience within industries such as petrochemical, chemical, or pharmaceutical.

• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (such as SAP) is advantageous.
