We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join one of our clients on an temp to perm basis. 

The company is a well-respected provider of specialist equipment to a range of train manufacturers and train operating companies around the UK and overseas 

Working on a day shift basis and based in their premises in Manchester the role will involve providing a range of electrical and some basic mechanical duties to the site.

The main responsibilities will include the following:-
•Electrical and mechanical maintenance of the equipment at the facility with a bias towards electrical engineering and PLC programming.
•Planned Maintenance - Working with the Maintenance and Test Team Leader on the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for all key pieces of equipment.
•Working closely with the production team on continuous improvement activities in all areas of the site processes. 
•Developing and leading a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) strategy for the site, including automation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and machine conditions monitoring linking to Industry 4.0 technologies.
•Maintenance and repair of all aspects of the site infrastructure as required:
•Maintenance of all machines and equipment, tooling, buildings and infrastructure
•Operation of the dynamometer test cell.
•Process improvement work across site.
•Writing and improving standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for site.
•To ensure continuity of activities with the production operators and other maintenance engineers across shifts.
•OEE (Overall equipment effectiveness)
•Machine Utilisation
•Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule adherence using the online system

Applicants must have previous experience of working in a similar role and have a proven track record of working in electrical maintenance. In addition lean manufacturing experience would be an advantage especially with industrial engineering principles.

Previous experience of working on drives, controls, HMI’s and hydraulic equipment maintenance is essential.

Applicants will hold a relevant recognised qualification, ideally to HNC level or equivalent. In addition 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be preferred as would some basic AutoCAD experience
