Bolton Council is seeking a qualified Electrician to maintain and review street lighting, illuminated road signs, bollards, and associated electrical works. This role requires adherence to health and safety legislation and statutory obligations. The ideal candidate will be 18th Edition Qualified and possess a full UK driving licence.
Day-to-day of the role:- Maintain and construct public electrical apparatus related to the highway.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and all statutory obligations relevant to assigned projects, including adhering to BS 7671 IEE Regulation for electrical installations.
- Maintain and complete all necessary documentation as required by the specification.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with procedures related to the Operator Licence for vehicles and plant assigned to the role.
- Work at heights from hydraulic platforms, ladders, or scaffold up to 15 metres.
- Drive and operate vehicles, plant, and equipment associated with the role and carry out relevant maintenance.
- Work independently or as part of a team to utilise street lighting equipment, plant, and materials effectively, providing a cost-effective service.
- Develop work-related skills of yourself and other team members.
- Perform other duties as allocated, commensurate with the grading of the post.
- Must be 18th Edition Qualified.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and construction work.
- Ability to work at heights and operate relevant machinery.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
