About the Role

As a Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge systems that ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical defence projects. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team, tackling unique challenges and delivering solutions that have a tangible impact on national security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for the defence industry.
  • Integrate instrumentation systems to meet project specifications and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including MOD guidelines.
  • Conduct fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to enhance system performance.
  • Produce technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and user manuals.


About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need a combination of technical expertise and a passion for solving complex problems. Experience in defence or similarly regulated industries is highly advantageous.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS).
  • Experience with instrumentation selection, configuration, and integration.
  • Strong understanding of safety-critical and secure systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a highly regulated/safety critical industry.
  • Strong knowledge with Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, or similar.
