Your new roleYou will be joining the Lab Engineer team as a Hardware Design Engineer at the innovation hub of our client's UK branch, located in the 'heart of the north'. This is a place where boundaries are constantly pushed, and every opinion is valued. As a contractor, you will enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees, including comprehensive training to help you excel in your career. Your day-to-day duties will include writing specifications for outsourced development, bringing concepts to final solutions, and providing initial results. Alongside this, you will be writing validation specifications, and performing validation processes, as well as writing technical documents. You will then be effectively communicating with stakeholders to present project progress and challenges. This is a hybrid role, but due to the nature of hardware engineering, you will need to be in the office four days a week.

What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will need experience with STM32 microcontrollers and embedded firmware. You should be able to demonstrate proficiency in Altium for multilayer PCB design and generating manufacturing files is desirable. Alongside demonstrating proven experience in both analogue and digital electronics design. You should have experience of interpreting design specifications, conducting reporting and documentation, and performing validation testing of designed PCBs. Additionally, knowledge of power semiconductor devices is desirable.
