Role: Small Works Estimator 

Location: West Manchester

Salary: £50k per annum & £5k car allowance

Holidays: 25 days plus 8 stats 

Hybrid Working: 2 days in the office 3 days home (occasional site visits)

The Role:

We are recruiting for a small works Estimator for a leading FM Provider's in house Projects team. You will produce the pre-contract cost estimates for tenders from £50k - £1m, for delivery by the in house installation engineers. 

This will include overseeing the scoping, specification and tendering of works.

You will create and manage the projects 'pipeline', using platforms such as Constructionline and other local government portals to identify opportunities suited to the business strategy. 

Projects include extensive M&E upgrades such as re-lamping, plant room refreshes and upgrades. The projects inlcude offices, schools and health care. 

You will report directly to the senior Quantity Surveyor.

Experience & Qualifications: 

-    A successful background in cost estimating on M&E building services installations.

-    Able to produce competitive tender pricing 

-    Knowledge of relevant costing standards/systems/platforms 

-    Track record of delivering cost control and commercial service to projects 

-    IT literate and proficient in MS Office with competence in using Excel 

-    Strong commercial knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills 

-    Working knowledge of various forms of construction contracts, e.g. JCT, NEC. 

-    Understanding of current building safety & compliance and health and safety regulations including CDM and duty holder responsibilities 

-    Excellent written and verbal skills

-    Self-starter and proactive, with the ability to work independently

-    Full, clean driving license

-    The role will be subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS checks
