The Role

Thanks to our innovative products and great team – we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Operative to join our professional Manufacturing team based in Trafford Park. The role provides direction to the shop floor through hands on and visible approach, escalating any business performance issues to their line managers. Senior member of the functional group on shift ensuring that relevant EHS, quality and site KPI’s are met or exceeded for their work area. This is in addition to standard Process Operator duties and out of normal working hours will be the senior person on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that resources required for both warehouse & production are available and utilised effectively.
  • Help to rationalise resources in line with customer needs and business justification. 
  • Organisation of production operators and equipment
  • Follow all appropriate procedures effectively and perform all appropriate tasks within set time scales and to set standards. 
  • SOP’s, process order instructions and other duties as defined by shift management.
  • Ensure appropriate data is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion, ensure the regular maintenance of all records. 
  • Documenting batches consumed on process orders; receipting process orders on SAP and filing paperwork. Equivalent activities for warehousing operations.
  • Using equipment / machinery / instruments safely and effectively within set requirements and procedures to meet area targets.  Ability to operate batch processing machinery. Promotes a high level of housekeeping in working area.
  • Review and improve existing systems and processes in order to improve effectiveness. Identify and introduce new systems and processes that improve the area or business as appropriate. Improvements geared towards productivity, yield and timely completion of customer demand

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Basic Secondary education and PC literacy
  • FLT Licence (is ideal but not essential)
  • Experience of production & warehouse environment and involvement in improvement activities
