We're looking for a passionate and skilled professional to control and reconcile the cash and bank processes for both the retail and corporate arms of The Co-operative Group. Your role will ensure that financial integrity is maintained, while helping to drive innovation and continuous improvement across our team.

What You'll Do:

  • Be a key player in resolving complex reconciliation issues, ensuring smooth financial operations and reducing risk.
  • Support process improvement, delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reports and balance sheets for internal teams.
  • Work closely with the Cash & Bank Reconciliations Manager and contribute to successful project delivery, making your mark on key business change initiatives.
  • Use your specialist knowledge to train, guide, and inspire your team, ensuring we meet service levels and deadlines.
  • Leverage your accountancy experience to play a crucial role in audits and year-end processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements, identify opportunities for efficiency, and deliver cost-saving solutions.

What We're Looking For:

  • A problem-solving expert in complex reconciliations with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in preparing detailed financial reports, management balance sheets, and control account reconciliations.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and the ability to analyse large datasets with ease.
  • A clear communicator who can explain complex financial data to non-technical audiences and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP (desirable), and a background in accountancy and reconciliations.
