Have you graduated university with a Law degree? Do you have experience and understanding of risk and compliance across the law sector? My client is looking for a candidate who ticks both of the above and is looking to build a successful career within a well established business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete procedural file reviews for all areas of my clients firm
  • Monitoring and actioning Smart Search alerts and reporting back to specific colleagues and areas of the business
  • Dealing with risk and compliance queries from staff which come through to the central mailbox or via telephone
  • Maintain the firm's SRA records
  • Supporting the bulking practising certificate renewal exercise
  • Responsible for the new starter process for the team which involves collating regulatory questionnaires, liaising with other central teams, speaking with heads of departments regarding any file or client transfers
  • Liaising with new starters to ensure their details are updated with the relevant regulatory board, and ensuring any relevant checks are carried out and training is completed
  • Delivering risk and compliance induction sessions for all new starters, as well as other ad-hoc training for staff on risk issues
  • Updating central registers
  • Responsible for the overall data protection of my client, such as data breaches and subject access requests
  • Assisting in preparation for external assessments

The Person (Skills / Qualifications):

  • Studied a Law degree or completed equivalent legal training
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of risk and compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently
