Are you an ambitious and analytically minded with a passion for finance, M&A, and infrastructure? Calisen is seeking an Investment Analyst to join our Transactions team, supporting our mission to expand into new markets, with a strong focus on water and net-zero energy infrastructure. This role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to play a vital role in driving our business objectives forward through M&A activity, financial analysis, and cross-departmental collaboration.

About the Role

As an Investment Analyst, you will:

  • Contribute to Calisen’s growth by supporting M&A and organic business expansion within infrastructure, particularly in the water and net-zero sectors.
  • Assist in financial analysis, scenario modelling, and the preparation of presentations and investment committee papers for senior team members.
  • Participate in the origination and due diligence processes, reviewing information memorandums and due diligence materials with guidance and training.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Operations, Legal, Finance) to secure and deliver new business contracts.
  • Collaborate on commercial tender tracking and project management.
  • Support the development of new commercial propositions from concept to execution for Calisen portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis with support from senior team members.
  • Contribute to the group’s operational reporting requirements.
  • Participate in commercial tender processes and project management alongside senior Transactions team members.
  • Support business growth plans post-acquisition or organic development utilizing Calisen’s existing infrastructure.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, numeracy, and the ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
  • Flexible, organized, and adaptable, with a strong willingness to learn.

Desirable:

  • Professional financial qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA).
  • Knowledge of project financial principles, contractual structures, and financial modelling.
  • Experience in energy or infrastructure sectors and understanding of capital markets.
