The company arranges insurance for some of the most fascinating risks on the planet, and has a reputation for excellence, innovation and formidable customer service.An exciting, newly-created opportunity has arisen for a Head of Trading, which will focus on driving performance and productivity alongside technical excellence, ultimately delivering profitability.This role can be based in either the Leeds, Manchester or Birmingham office, and there will be some national travel involved. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver the overall New Business budget, through leading the Broker Sales product teams. In conjunction with Broker Sales management, you will define and drive the sales activity, leveraging your expertise to drive operational efficiency, insightful data analysis, and excellence in service delivery.
Working in tandem with the Head of Strategic Brokers and Head of Regional Brokers, you will ensure alignment between sales operations and overall sales strategies. Duties will include, but not be limited to, leading and optimising underwriting processes (i.e. new business processes), leveraging technology to streamline operations and boost productivity, as well as developing strategies and initiatives to improve broker service experience. This will include regularly reviewing broker feedback to identify areas for service improvement, implementing required changes, and keeping a laser focus on quote, strike, and conversion rates. You’ll also be involved with embedding CRM usage into the team to ensure consistency and improved capability, driving people-focussed leadership accountability, and supporting Underwriter development via appropriate mentoring and training.
It is essential that you have previous experience of working within the General Insurance industry in a senior leadership team. We will consider talented insurance professionals from either a commercial broking or underwriting background, who have a successful track record of achieving growth. Just as importantly, you’ll have strong analytical and data management skills, an understanding of project management techniques, as well as a previous success in the management of both internal and external partners. You must show a high level of competence in the use of data to robustly manage performance.
