The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage underwriting and a solid understanding of various loan products.BTL Mortgage Underwriter Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess mortgage applications, verifying financial information.
  • Make sound underwriting decisions based on lending criteria, guidelines, and risk assessments.
  • Approve or decline mortgage applications within designated underwriting authority
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient processing of applications.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and professionally
  • Monitor loan performance to ensure adherence to company policies and risk management standards.

BTL Mortgage Underwriter Requirements:

  • 18 months + of underwriting experience
  • Experience in Buy to Let underwriting is preferred
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work within mandate limits
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
