What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Team Leader, your role will be pivotal in overseeing the smooth operation of our busy Accounts Payable function. You'll lead a dedicated team of Purchase Ledger Clerks, fostering their development while ensuring high performance. Your expertise will be crucial in managing supplier relationships in line with company policies. With your meticulous attention to detail, you'll drive process improvements within the department. Your ability to prepare insightful reports will aid senior management in strategic decision-making. Additionally, your commitment to compliance will ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8 Purchase Ledger Clerks, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of high-volume supplier invoices across multiple entities.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, resolving queries and ensuring timely payments.
  • Oversee supplier statement reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
  • Prepare and present monthly Accounts Payable reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the Accounts Payable function, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations, including VAT compliance.
  • Identify training needs within the team and organise relevant training sessions to upskill team members.

What you bring:

As an ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Team Leader position, you bring along proven experience in similar roles within large organisations. Your strong people management skills and ability to inspire a team will be key in this role. You are technically proficient with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills enable you to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
