Our client is the fast-expanding provider of asset finance and provide a range of lending products for the UK SME and mid-corporate sectors.

As part of their ambitious plans this is a new role with the opportunity to help develop a market leading Asset Management function. This position will have responsibility for the front end valuations process, disposals and book residual risk.

  • Responsibility for the portfolio of assets owned and managed in support of the leasing and hire purchase business..
  • Maintain and regularly review under appropriate governance, which may include external support, Depreciation Curves relevant to the main asset types which the business funds.
  • Provide an appropriate valuation for assets for new transactions where depreciation curves are not appropriate.
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate panel of valuers / external database providers for sources of valuation information used in underwriting transactions, in life management and recovery situations.
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate panel of Sub Hire Audit / Asset Inspection agents and ensure ongoing management and review of audit schedules and managing the outcome of reviews, taking remediation action as appropriate.
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate panel of agents to be utilised in asset recovery and sale situations
  • Support the Collections and Business Support functions with asset valuations, asset recovery options and asset disposal advice, and instructing agents as required in line with agreed recovery approaches.
  • Provide MI to appropriate committees, including Credit Committee, on a regular basis as required, including portfolio overviews / asset concentrations / market risks, and lessons learned on recoveries. Input to Credit Policy on risk appetite on asset types and asset considerations in lending appetite.
  • Responsibility for ownership / maintenance of Asset Management Framework and other supporting policies as appropriate
  • Key Responsibility in supporting drafting and maintenance of other Policies as appropriate (e.g. Asset Supplier Policy, Collections and Recovery Policies, Valuation Policy, etc).
