A perfect opportunity for an experience Corporate Tax Manager or Senior Manager to take the next step in their career and join a reputable firm that is looking to excel their growth within 2025. You will play a key role within this team and they are looking for an enthusiastic individual that will bring a proactive attitude.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Team, responsible for assisting CT management, Directors and Partners in servicing clients, delivering CT services and managing the people within the department.

The role holder may have specialist skills but will primarily be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients in a variety of sectors. The successful candidate should have experience reviewing work electronically with minimal Partner/Director input within their existing team.

Client Responsibilities:

The CT team deals with a broad range of consultancy work emanating from a wide variety of clients. The list below includes some of the responsibilities:

  • Review provisions (including tax accounting schedules) and final tax computations
  • Prepare advisory work on a wide range of business tax issues such as expanding into different jurisdictions, setting up a share scheme or restructuring a group to make it more tax efficient
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
  • Manage WIP and billing for own clients, ensuring commercial recoveries
  • Potential general management of direct reports, including delivering their appraisals

Special work/ADHOC assignments:

Work may include the following:

  • Support with tender proposals
  • Due diligence
  • Opportunities to train staff on CT matters
  • Investigation and resolution of CT queries
  • Assistance in CT marketing initiatives

People Management:

The post-holder will be jointly responsible for managing a team and will have the opportunity to manage some direct reports following successful completion of probation.

In addition to managing their own development, individuals are expected to encourage and take an active role in the training and development of junior staff.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • ACA/CA/CTA or equivalent
  • Proven skills in CT work gained in practice
  • A thorough understanding of CT principles
  • Able to explain complex issues in a way non-CT experts will understand
  • Up-to-date technical skills and experience, across a broad range of large corporate and owner-managed business issues
  • Ability to manage a large client portfolio profitably
  • Ability to deal with tax advisory matters and report writing (including due diligence)
  • Experience of share scheme reporting not essential, but would be useful
  • Good Excel skills
  • Experience of Alphatax preferred
  • Experience of CCH would also be useful
