I am working with a healthcare business based in Manchester City Centre who requires a Finance Manager. Reporting directly into the Finance Director this role is responsible for the management of the team as well as the day to day finance activities of the business. My client is looking for an ambitious and hard-working individual. The role will require a confident individual who will work with the support of the Finance Director to deliver key financial information, implement finance policies, procedures and governance controls across the group.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Produce and oversee production of management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of monthly finance pack with supporting commentary and variance analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting of month-end and year-end journals
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting for all entities
  • Working with Commercial Finance to review spending against budgets, identifying overspend and advising on corrective actions
  • Weekly cash-flow reporting/forecasting and variance analysis, ensuring payments are made and reconciled
  • Quarterly group VAT submissions
  • Production of monthly payroll file for submission to external payroll provider
  • Management and development of the finance assistants who support with the month-end processes
  • Pro actively identify and implement process, systems and reporting improvements across the department and wider-business
  • Lead, plan and manage finance projects
  • Provide all necessary information for completion of year-end accounts
  • Business partnering with departments to provide support, information and ad-hoc reporting/analysis

The right candidate will be;

  • Newly qualified accountant with experience preferably in an SME environment
  • Previous experience of working within practice is desirable but nit essential
  • Experience of managing and mentoring a finance team
  • Adherence to strict reporting deadlines
  • Experience of using Xero (desired, not essential)
  • Strong Excel skills, including vlookups/Pivots
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and standards
