Finance Manager 6-month FTC (potential to go perm) l £40-£50K DOE l Manchester City Centre l Hybrid -2 days officeJob Overview:Axon Moore is partnering with a leading property managing business who has more than doubled in size, to recruit a Finance Manger to cover a 6month FTC (Potential to go perm). For this role you will be required to support the Residential team by being responsible for billing and recovering services charges for a portfolio of sites under management, reviewing accounts and keeping the system up to date.Salary: Up to £50,000Benefits: Enhanced family leave policies, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, Pet lovers Friday, enhanced sick pay, study support, enhanced annual leave (including birthday off, day off to buy your house)Location: Manchester City Centre- Hybrid – 2 days in the office.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day finance support of the operational Residential business across three key areas:
Transactional Operations: Accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable and cash/bankingLettings Operations: Support to the lettings business with all finance processes, tasks and procedures.Service Charge: Oversee the end-to-end annual service charge accounts cycle for all managed properties.
  • Responsible for the production of KPI/MI reports produced for stakeholders in the Residential and Finance teams.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to the ELT/SMT and financial modelling to the internal team as and when required.
  • Responsible for set up of all financial aspects of new properties on Qube, including liaising with previous agents for the handover information.
  • Responsible for overall levels of debt across the Residential portfolio
  • Relationship management of Key Clients
  • Responsible for the Annual ARMA and ARLA audits and compliance visits
  • Software system Champion, with the ability to train the team on all aspects of the finance processes and driving continuous improvement across all areas of the Residential/Leasehold finance sphere of influence.
  •  To promote peak performance and develop colleagues through effective people management, embracing the one-to-one and review process.
  • To ensure the team operate with a clear set of processes and procedures with inbuilt measures of quality and control – with the ability to make this visible to the business.
  • Foster a culture of clear accountability within the team for deliverables, leading by example.
  • Ensure all key procedures are comprehensively documented using the business procedures templates - developing and enhancing existing processes, controls and system use.
  • Ensuring an excellent customer-focused service to residents and clients whilst making sure all legal obligations are met.
  • Provide clear information to finance and wider business management teams to highlight issues and to flag trends and performance - particular focus on KPI reporting.
  • Support to Finance Director, Director of Residential and Managing Director as and when required.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Excellent People Management Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisation skills.
  • Great communication skills, particularly in terms of presenting financial information to non-finance people, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload to strict deadlines.
  • Analytical with good attention to detail and numeracy skills
  • Strong IT skills, with particular competence in spreadsheets/Excel (advanced) and finance systems
  • Engaging, possessing good stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyse information and processes.
  • Positive attitude to Change and embracing new ideas and ways of working.
  • Ability to work within a broad finance team and consider cross-team impacts of new processes.
Person Specification:Essential:
  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA, AAT or qualified by experience.

Desirable:
  • ARLA qualification – or the desire to work towards

  • Experience in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting records of designated portfolios preferably within the property sector or something of a similar nature.
  • Understanding of leasehold property accounting
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering excellent results through people
