Interim Director of Finance & Corporate Services

Robert Walters is supporting a leading public sector organisation in the appointment of Interim Director of Corporate Services. This role will provide strategic leadership across multiple disciplines, including finance, procurement, planning and performance, information governance and corporate legal, ICT and facilities. The successful candidate will champion the efficient use of resources, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

As the Interim Director of Corporate Services, your role will be pivotal in steering the financial and procurement functions. You will ensure alignment with statutory and best practice standards while maintaining strong corporate governance. Your leadership will inspire change, embed best practices, and drive performance across multiple operational domains. You will also play a crucial role in managing the financial planning, budgeting, reporting processes and leading corporate risk management.

• Oversee the Commission's financial and operational strategy
• Manage the Commission's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
• Ensure timely production of key documents such as spending review, business plan, annual report and accounts
• Lead corporate risk management and performance monitoring systems
• Develop transformative strategies for business operations
• Build high-performing teams fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

What you bring:

A proven track record in a leadership role within large public sector organisations, people management skills leading multi-functional teams to achieve excellence. You are skilled in financial reporting and implementing robust financial controls.

• Qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant with extensive post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge and experience in public sector finance
• Proven track record in a leadership role within public sector organisation
