Job Purpose:

  • The Relationship Manager is responsible for a portfolio of clients. The first priority is to ensure that any funds advanced can be recovered from debts assigned, whilst providing a thorough and personalised sales ledger management service. The role provides the main link between the client and the company being an extension of the client into the company and of the company into the client. Providing credit control, transaction posting, client payments and general client care, the role is responsible for ensuring the client relationship is excellent consistent with the right risk and income for the company.

Responsibilities:

New Clients:

  • Onboard all new clients, completing all pre and post take on activities.
  • Support sales with verification and client set ups.
  • Complete any client audits/ surveys that are required.
  • Manage the facility for 3 months minimum; set standard for process and ways of working and ensure maintained by all new clients; Understand and explain all aspects of a facility to a client.
  • Verification of client invoices ensuring that the invoices are bonafide.
  • Conducting reviews of client activity and performance ensuring the appropriate levels of security in with company rules.
  • Client visits.
  • Monitor operational conditions of new clients.
  • Support sales on prospect development if required.

Transaction Processing:

  • Processing of cash received from customers and invoices received from clients resulting in the accurate maintenance of sales ledger for the allocated clients.
  • Processing of payments to clients in line with established rules and procedures.
  • Daily Balancing of client activity to ensure all daily activity is accurately recorded.

General Operations Team:

  • Complete client audit/ surveys as required.
  • Complete client facilities reviews.
  • Attend client visits.
  • Support operational team in day to day requirements.
  • Assist with client retention- client complaints, fee re- negotiations, Cover RMs absence/ Senior RM absence/ OD absence.
  • Annual review employee guides, process manuals.
  • Assist in sourcing, developing and implementing efficiency gains for the operations team.

As a Senior Team Member:

  • Authorising various system controls, within authorities given, such as HI%, credit limits and reassignments.
  • Deal with operational queries both internally and externally when a member of management is required.
  • Assist in the training and development of the operations team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new and improved processes for the operations department.
  • Deliver projects to improve the department inline with strategy.

Other:

  • To participate in individual and company training as required from time to time.
  • To participate in regular appraisals and work reviews.
  • To undertake other duties within the scope of the job, as directed from time to time.
