It does involve travel but only in a regional capacity within a local geographical area, with very occasional travel to London. As a Senior Audit Manager, you will be responsible for working with clients and reviewing audits and it is essential that you have a clear understanding of the organisation’s approach, assessing the adequacy of audit evidence, and discussing the overall quality of the audit with the organisation. You will also conduct monitoring reviews in other areas, including assurance. You will see the process through from start to finish and will conclude the audit either with recommendations of what is required and be responsible for reviewing the actions and providing support where needed or to identify if no action is needed. You look at the review and verifying the company's accounting records as per accounting standards and principles looking at the day-to-day management of risks during normal activity within an organisation, making sure they have the right controls and processes in place. You will provide an independent perspective for the clients from an external assurance perspective. To quote the Senior Manager responsible for the team who is himself from a Top 4 background “You work on your own terms, and you can add real value to your clients which they really welcome. The work-life balance is fantastic, and I really do love my job, I have gone from working a 90-hour week to getting my life back.”If you are looking for a new role but perhaps are not sure which direction you want to take or if you are an experienced external auditor who is looking for a change, please do reach out so we can discuss this fantastic local opportunity further.  This is NOT a run-of-the-mill audit role!
