Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an attractive salary range of £65,000 - £75,000 and the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment from their Manchester office. The successful candidate will be part of a specialist finance team, engaging with key stakeholders and playing a pivotal role in the company's financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a leadership role within a large business.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Manager, your role will be integral to the financial operations of the company. You will lead the preparation of interim and annual reports, ensuring they meet all necessary standards. Your expertise will be crucial in providing technical accounting advice to various business units. You will also play a key role in improving the company's controls and financial reporting processes. Your ability to interpret complex accounting standards will be essential in driving efficiency and accuracy in preparation processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in ERP systems.

  • Lead the preparation of interim and annual reports and subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Ensure successful delivery of external audits and develop strong relationships with audit teams.
  • Provide technical accounting advice to the business units.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers explaining accounting judgements to key stakeholders.
  • Advise on changes in accounting standards and their business impact.
  • Drive improvements in the company's controls and financial reporting processes.
  • Partner with business and finance stakeholders to understand performance and commercial impacts.
  • Highlight key risks & opportunities based on analysis of results and application of accounting standards.
  • Lead the implementation of complex accounting standards, driving efficiency and accuracy in preparation processes.
  • Define and drive efficient governance and financial control processes that deliver high quality, timely, auditable output.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Finance Manager position is a qualified accountant (ACA) with progressive finance experience. Ideally, our client is looking for an individual looking either for their second move out of practice, or an Audit Manager looking for their first move. You have previously held a leadership role within Audit, demonstrating your ability to influence at all levels. Your proficiency in ERP systems coupled with your strong technical knowledge makes you an asset to any team. Your excellent communication and presentation skills enable you to effectively engage with stakeholders across the business.

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA)
  • Experience in a leadership role within Audit
  • Progressive finance experience, including experience working in a large business
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence at all levels
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Strong technical knowledge (IFRS 15 & 16 would be advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
