Treasury Manager

Manchester/Hybrid

£55,000 - £60,000 + annual bonus

We're excited to be partnering with a leading company in the heart of Manchester. This opportunity is based at their HQ and offers a fantastic path for professional growth and development within a successful and expanding team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Group Treasurer to manage the company's cash flow, debt, and liquidity. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with financing agreements and overseeing the efficient processing of financial transactions like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash, and Treasury activities. You'll also have the chance to collaborate with the Financial Controller on various projects and provide team support as needed.

What’s involved?

  • Liquidity Management, through assisting the Group Treasurer in managing business liquidity within set bank/group thresholds.
  • Maintain debt reporting for banks, manage banking relationships, and ensure compliance with covenants.
  • Cash Flow Budgeting by producing and monitoring the annual cash flow budget, performing variance analysis, and updating cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure clean, reconciled cash balances across stores, preventing cash leakage.
  • Work with stores to ensure accurate and timely capture of payments and secure payment mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Control team to integrate newly acquired businesses/branches, adapting their accounting systems.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations by reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, providing guidance, and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders receive appropriate transaction processing as per SLAs.
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment compliant with regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Improve KPI reporting to align with evolving business needs.
  • Monitor and manage payment terms for customers and suppliers, supporting group working capital.
  • Manage schemes such as the PEP (Prescription Early Payment) and invoice discounting facilities.

Key Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Qualifications - Finance/Accounting/Treasury qualification (preferred).
  • Data Handling - Experience working with large transactional datasets.
  • System Proficiency - Confident user of finance systems with extensive experience.
  • Mentorship - Ability to mentor and coach team members for high engagement.
  • Adaptability - Respond quickly to evolving business needs affecting processes, controls, and systems.
  • Banking & Technology Evolution - Adapt to changes in banking systems and technology.
