My client is a well-established financial advisory business in Manchester and they are currently looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join their team.This is an excellent opportunity for a career minded individual to join a rapidly growing team and support the business in its next stage of development.

Job PurposeTo support and assist financial planners in the delivery of bespoke solutions to clients as part of the financial advice process. To collate and interpret client information and to contribute to the formulation of suitable strategies to meet client objectives. To prepare suitability reports which reflect the proposed strategy. To identify disadvantages in the solutions proposed for clients and to bring these issues to the attention of relevant staff and to refer issues for escalation if required. Other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities commensurate with the role may be required. Main Responsibilities

  • Providing technical, research and administrative support
  • Production of compliant and detailed client suitability reports and presentations
  • Help manage client relationship and taking/making calls in a polite and professional manner
  • Ability to gather and record evidence
  • Keeping full and compliant records on file
  • Liaising with advisers on a regular basis, to work on cases and provide updates
  • Prioritising workload in order to meet all deadlines
  • Occasionally taking on project work and assignments
  • Any other administration based duties that are considered appropriate to the role

Person Specification

  • Good knowledge across all advice areas (investment, pensions, protection but not mortgages)
  • A very strong interest in compliance and willingness to perform compliance support role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of the financial planning process and a knowledge of the financial services world
  • Excellent report writing skills and have a high technical knowledge
  • Good IT skills
  • Be able to plan and prioritise your own workload and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability and willingness to take personal responsibility in Director/Adviser support role
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Achieved or be close to achieving an appropriate level 4 qualification
