A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join AJ Bell as an Operational Financial Crime Manager. The successful candidate will lead the first line team who serve as the primary responders to referrals originating from Customer Services and Operations business areas.

Key responsibilities of the role will include triaging the referrals, conducting an initial risk assessment and determining whether escalation to the second line team for further review is necessary.

What you'll do

  • Maintain and develop the organisational structure of the Operational Financial Crime function, to ensure that it continues to perform effectively.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team by coaching and mentoring by identifying strengths and areas of improvement.
  • Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and identify opportunities for process improvements or resource allocation adjustments as needed.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant regulations and industry guidance from a financial crime perspective.
  • Identify potential gaps and improvements in existing financial crime controls and work with the relevant stakeholders to drive enhancements.

What you'll have

  • Experience in leading and developing financial crime teams.
  • Experience in working in a fast -paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial crime areas such as AML, CTF and Fraud.
  • Strong knowledge of financial crime regulation, including the Financial Crime Handbook and JMLSG.
  • An understanding of industry-wide financial crime practices and trends.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills to build & maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
