We are recruiting for FLT/Warehouse Operatives, on a permanent basis. This is not temporary work.
Interviews for this role will be starting throughout January 2025. All candidates will be expected to attend 2 x Interviews in person.
Interview 1: With DBR Group at our office in Bolton.
Interview 2: With our Client in Irlam.
Job brief
Our Client expects all Warehouse Operatives to be diligent and committed to ensure the materials coming onto site and leaving site are correct, safe and in good condition, as this will help ensure health and safety on site. Their customers expect high levels of quality and service, and a major way this expectation can be met is by the condition the materials received this is vital in the continued growth of the business. Supporting Production by marshalling, organising and replacing part consumed containers are also essential aspects of being a Warehouse Operative at our client.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Taking responsibility for our clients freight and assets you are the first and last touch-point for materials entering and leaving site.
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures FIFO as a priority.
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Warehouse Supervisor.
- Keeping the warehouse and storage areas environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment such as Forklift Trucks and warehouse office areas.
- Following COMAH health and safety rules when handling goods.
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules as set out by Operations Management Team.
- Always treating chemical containers and equipment on site with care and concern.
Requirements and skills
- Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a warehouse team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of handling, storing, and labeling hazardous products.
- Computer literacy, including relevant software programs Outlook, EFACS, Excel etc
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of goods.
- Hands-on commitment to complete their assigned tasks quickly and safely.
- Detail orientated mindset.
- Honesty and trustworthiness.
- The ability to work effectively under limited supervision.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence essential, Reach Truck Licence advantageous.
Please be aware that you MUST have a valid Counter Balance FLT Licence as a minimum to be considered for this role. In-house is not acceptable, it must be via an accredited body.
It would be preferable if you have experience working within the chemical sector and you MUST have an excellent understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary: £24,270 (basic salary to be assessed in the new year in line with annual company evaluation)
- 8.5 hours per day (Monday to Friday) with half hour lunch unpaid. Start/finish times to be determined by Warehouse Supervisor/Operations Manager in due course)
