Sales Account Manager - The Role

Scan Europe Logistics is seeking an experienced freight forwarding specialist to join their expanding team in Carrington, Manchester!

The ideal candidate will have robust operational knowledge, sales confidence & an entrepreneurial mindset. Somebody with the ability to come on board, bring accounts, generate new business and grow the existing client base.

As a Freight Account Manager, you will be required to handle each customer's freight requirements from start to finish, with the freedom to use suppliers of your choice. It's a role that you can really make your own!

Key Responsibilities;

Manage a portfolio of clients, coordinating and tracking shipments from initiation to completion.
Process customer bookings via email/phone using in-house IT systems.
Handle all operational aspects of import and export movements.
Provide quotations for freight services (groupage/full loads to and from Europe or worldwide by Air/Sea).
Arrange and prepare customs documentation.
Negotiate rates with airlines, carriers, and customs clearing agents to maximise profitability.
Maintain and build positive relationships with suppliers.
Respond to customer enquiries promptly, ensuring customer-focused resolutions.
Offer accurate information to accounts and management for efficient administration.
Stay updated on market developments and competitor information.
Promote the business to new and existing clients.
Conduct friendly telesales calls (Outbound) and arrange face-to-face sales visits to secure new business.
Flexibility to travel for client meetings.

Sales Account Manager - What we need from you

Key Skills & Responsible;

Minimum 3 years' operational experience in a Freight Forwarding / Sales role.
Strong knowledge of Roadfreight, Airfreight, or Seafreight.
Understanding of UK Customs requirements post-Brexit.
Extensive network of contacts within shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
