Reed are currently working in partnership with a dynamic and growing freight forwarding business based in Wythenshawe, dedicated to providing exceptional logistics solutions to their clients. Their team is committed to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Import Clerk to join our amazing client's well established team.

Job Description: As a Junior Import Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our import operations. You will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and management of import shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing excellent customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the logistics and freight forwarding industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of import shipments from origin to destination
  • Prepare and process import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate shipment delivery
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with all import regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records and files for all import transactions
  • Assist with resolving any issues or discrepancies related to import shipments
  • Provide general administrative support to the import team
  • Assist with customs clearances

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Previous experience in logistics or freight forwarding (1 year+)
