Job Description:
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join a school in Longsight, M13. This role is vital in supporting students who require additional help in managing their behaviour and achieving their full potential within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviour to support their social and emotional development
- Develop and implement individualized behaviour support plans
- Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to address behavioural issues
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a consistent approach to behaviour management
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents
- Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that encourages positive behaviour
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a conducive learning environment
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities
- Uphold and follow the policies of the school
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behaviour al challenges
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, counselling or a related field are desirable but not essential
