Building Physics Consultant

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist building services consultancy who are expanding rapidly by taking on numerous multidisciplined projects across the UK. Due to their increased growth, they are looking for an experienced Building Physics Consultant to join their sustainability team based in their new Manchester offices.

Key responsibilities for a Building Physics Consultant include:

  • Provide assistance with building regulations that comply with Part L
  • Carry out Thermal comfort analysis (CIBSE TM52 and TM59)
  • Undertake TM54 Operational Energy analysis
  • Carry out NABERS simulations, Passive design, and low-zero carbon technology studies
  • Work alongside clients and architects, providing advice on energy use across a range of buildings and sites

The ideal Building Physics Consultant will have:

  • A relevant degree within an energy, engineering, sustainability, or architecture discipline
  • Relevant experience within a sustainability or building physics role within the construction industry
  • Working experience with IES-VE software to carry out energy modelling and overheating analysis
  • Working towards CIBSE chartership as a Low Carbon Energy Assessor would be desirable
  • Experience delivering residential and commercial EPCs with an OCDEA or NDEA accreditation being advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
