I am looking for an experienced Connectivity Estimator to join my client's team, responsible for delivering accurate and comprehensive estimates and proposals for traditional design and build projects across the UK. This role involves working on a wide range of projects, from minor to major, across various sectors such as commercial and industrial. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the communications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient use of Takeoff and other estimating software, along with basic Excel and Word skills.
  • Extract quantities from drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to produce detailed estimates.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), labor estimates, and assess plant, MEWP, travel, and preliminary requirements based on project specifications.
  • Create complete connectivity designs and estimates for building services.
  • Participate in the finalization of tenders.
  • Prepare and issue tender packages for subcontractor work and review returned documentation for integration into main bids.
  • Prepare client-facing documentation, detailing job-specific technical and commercial information.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to review tender documents, providing necessary clarifications regarding project requirements, terms, and contracts to mitigate commercial risks.
  • Ensure all responsibilities align with company policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

  • CNCI, CNID, or CNIDP certifications.
  • RCDD certification.
  • Structured Cabling Manufacturer Training (e.g., Commscope, Excel).

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role or on-site experience with a desire to transition into an estimating position.
  • Experience in estimating and bid presentations within the Enterprise Services sector or similar fields.
  • Strong comprehension skills for emails, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficient in English and Mathematics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with a flexible approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Highly organized, forward-thinking, and able to plan effectively.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and diligent, with a strong work ethic.
  • Confident and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Approachable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Creative approach to presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
