A unique opportunity had arisen for a Conservation Architect with Residential-sector experience to join a busy, Manchester-based firm as they continue to expand and diversify their workload.

Our client are a specialist in the refurbishment and restoration of existing buildings. Often these buildings will be Grade 1 or Grade 2 listed and therefore require an extraordinary attention to detail from their specialist team of Architects and Designers.

They are currently undergoing several bids for Conservation work. These projects are primarily existing buildings looking to be utilised and adapted into Residential schemes whilst remaining sensitive to the existing structure and details. In order to be successful here it is important for applicants to have experience in dealing with similar projects as these, primarily at stages 0-3. Coupled with this it is important for applicants to demonstrate a level of commercial awareness; the ability to realise potential in such important, historical buildings.

They are looking to hire a Senior Architect to oversee and manage several of these new projects whilst working alongside a skilled team of fellow Architects & Designers.

To apply for this Conservation Architect vacancy, we would want applicants to meet the following criteria:

ARB/RIBA qualification.
Conservation Architecture Accreditation would be beneficial, but not essential.
Minimum 5 year post-qualification experience required.
AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup - REVIT would be a bonus.
UK building regs knowledge and experience.
Full, clean driving licence with access to a car.
Proven experience in submitting bids.
Proven experience at stages 0-3 of the RIBA plan of work.
