We are seeking dedicated and passionate Tutors inEnglishto support the academic progress of students at a dynamic school in Blackley inManchester. In this role you will provide educational support to students of various ages. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess the ability to communicate effectively, ensuring that each student receives personalised attention tailored to their learning needs. Experience in special education is a plus, as we aim to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
  • Assess students progress and understanding, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Develop customised lesson plans that align with the curriculum and address specific learning objectives.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere that motivates students to achieve their academic goals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Stay updated with educational best practices and resources to enhance tutoring effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Must have at least an a-level in English Literature.
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with children of different age groups.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • A background in special education is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or related fields are advantageous.
